Jan is an expert at bringing profitability to complex, high tech and high growth businesses. She has worked with hundreds of companies - evaluating their business models, operations and management teams. She produces short and long-term plans for growth, and executes strategic projects that can bring fundamental change to committed companies.
She has served in senior management and leadership roles in both the corporate and non-profit sectors, and has broad industry experience including health information, medical device, life science and IT service sectors. Her corporate management experience spans start-ups, mid-size and fortune 500 companies. She has an MBA from the University of Michigan and an undergraduate teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University.
Jan is an active participant in Michigan's entrepreneurial community. She is a long time Board Director of the New Enterprise Forum based in Ann Arbor, a twenty year old non-profit that connects entrepreneurs with resources. She donates time to assist start-ups with business planning and investor presentations by working at SPARK, TechTown and The Great Lakes Entrepreneurs' Quest. She is dedicated to building infrastructures for Michigan’s entrepreneurial community that will generate perpetual support for entrepreneurs as they found companies, create jobs and add revenue to the economy.
She is also passionate about education and children. She sits on the Board of Directors for Washtenaw Technical Middle College, one of the only charter high schools in the country that graduates students with both a high school diploma and a college certificate or degree at the same time.
Jan founded the practice in 1996 with a mission to create wealth for entrepreneurs. The business reflects her personal values of integrity, hard work and making a difference. Her vision includes building a strong, healthy and profitable entrepreneurial community, expanding the ranks of successful business leaders, and strengthening the collaborations and long-term relationships between all entrepreneurial stakeholders.
